Welcome to the Belleville High School Crew team website.  This site will serve as a resource for current rowers, parents and alumni of Belleville Crew.

The 2014 season is upon us, and we hope to build on past successes.  We hope to have a great number of returning rowers and acquire a large novice squad.

If you’re a parent of a rower or an alumn of Belleville Crew, we’d love to see you get involved.  Come visit us at the boathouse, come out on the water with one of the coaches and come support the team at our regattas!

In 1942, the Belleville High School Crew team was established.  The Belleville High School had the privilege of being the first public school in the state of New Jersey to have a crew team.

The team, and the sport, have come a long way since the 1940′s.  Through it all, Belleville High School has consistently had a strong crew program and continues to compete against some of the best high school crew teams in the country through the Philadelphia Scholastic Rowing Association (PSRA).

We row on the Passaic River and share a boathouse with Nutley and Kearny, right across the Rutgers Street bridge.

“I am a member of a team, and I rely on the team, I defer to it and sacrifice for it, because the team, not the individual, is the ultimate champion.”

“The whole must be greater than the sum of its parts.  Individual glory means nothing and one’s fate lies solely with the Crew.

A group of individuals bonded through dedication, determination and fortitude to achieve a common goal through an uncommon attitude.

We willingly accept pain and sacrifice our bodies, but achieve greatness for each other.

This is who we are…we are family…WE ARE BELLEVILLE CREW!”
